In-Office Procedures

Women’s Health Specialists, we are proud to offer a wide range of safe and effective minor surgical procedures in our office setting. By performing these procedures in-office, patients avoid the added risks and costs of hospital admission and general anesthesia. Most can be done under local anesthesia with minimal discomfort, quicker recovery, and lower overall cost. All procedures are performed at our Park Ridge office at 2604 Dempster Street, Suite 410, Park Ridge, IL

Endometrial Ablation

Procedure performed to reduce or stop heavy menstrual bleeding by burning the uterine lining. Safe, effective, and not suitable for women planning future pregnancies.

Hysteroscopy

Diagnostic procedure that uses a small camera to view inside the uterus, helping diagnose or treat issues like abnormal bleeding, fibroids, or polyps. Quick recovery and minimal discomfort.

LEEP Procedure (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure)

Procedure that removes abnormal cervical cells after an abnormal Pap smear or biopsy. Helps prevent cervical cancer with a fast recovery.

Vaginoplasty

Procedure that tightens and restores vaginal tissues, often after childbirth or for functional or cosmetic reasons. Improves support and muscle tone.

Hymenectomy

Procedure that removes extra hymenal tissue that can cause pain or tampon difficulties. Simple procedure with quick recovery.

Bartholin Gland Cystectomy

• Why it’s done: For large, persistent, or recurring Bartholin cysts or abscesses.
• How it works: The entire cyst or gland is surgically removed.
• Benefits: Provides a permanent solution to recurring pain, swelling, or infection.
• Recovery: May involve mild discomfort and limited activity for a short period.

Bartholin Gland Marsupialization

• Why it’s done: To treat recurrent Bartholin cysts or abscesses.
• How it works: The gland tissue is reduced (morcellated) to prevent future fluid buildup.
• Benefits: Helps stop painful recurrences while preserving comfort and function.

In-office procedures at Women’s Health Specialists offer safe, convenient, and cost-effective solutions for many gynecologic conditions—performed in the comfort of our Park Ridge office. On the day of your procedure, wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and slip-on shoes for your comfort and recovery, and please remember to arrange for someone to drive you home after your procedure.
